YWISET stands for Young Women in Science Engineering and Technology. YWISET was founded in 2017 by Professor Lady Ngozi Franca Okoye. Her vision is to make science look and feel inclusive to aspiring scientists in the STEM field especially to disadvantaged indiviaduals. Research shows that women are underreprsented in the STEM arena.
YWISET stands for Young Women in Science Engineering and Technology. YWISET was founded in 2017 by Professor Lady Ngozi Franca Okoye. Her vision is to make science look and feel inclusive to aspiring scientists in the STEM field especially to disadvantaged indiviaduals. Research shows that women are underreprsented in the STEM arena. Research also shows that people who study STEM far out earn those who did not. YWISET is free to join and you must be 18 years and over to be a member. We engage with other women scientists around the world. YWISET organise workshops, conferences, and essay writing competions. YWISET also provide scholarships and so far has awarded more than 20 scholarships. We have grown staedily to over 1000 members. YWISET has chapters in Nigeria and UK. We aim to start chapters all over the world . You can start a chapter where you are. Today, we work with hundreds of volunteers and community partners to create a better future for all.

Professor Ngozi Franca Okoye is an internationally recognized academic, software engineer, entrepreneur, and interdisciplinary thought leader whose career bridges science, technology, policy, innovation and real estate. With contributions in biochemistry, information technology, and climate studies, Prof Okoye currently serves in multiple
Professor Ngozi Franca Okoye is an internationally recognized academic, software engineer, entrepreneur, and interdisciplinary thought leader whose career bridges science, technology, policy, innovation and real estate. With contributions in biochemistry, information technology, and climate studies, Prof Okoye currently serves in multiple prestigious roles, advising global organizations and shaping policy at the highest levels of international governance.
Currently a Professor at a respected global institute, which collaborates with key multilateral bodies including the OECD, UN, WHO, IMF. Professor Okoye is known for a distinctive blend of technical and scientific expertise.
Professor Okoye holds a Visiting/Adjunct Professorship at a major Nigerian university and was conferred the title of Professor of Biochemistry and Information Technology by a university in the United States. In these roles, she supports research, curriculum innovation, academic leadership, and mentorship, championing a transdisciplinary approach that integrates science, policy, and real-world application.
With a foundation in software engineering, Professor Okoye began her career in the technology industry, holding positions at major organizations including British Telecommunications plc (BT) and GlaxoSmithKline plc. These early roles cultivated a deep understanding of digital systems, enterprise software, and scalable technology solutions—skills that now inform her advisory work in health tech, digital infrastructure, and data governance.
Prof Okoye is also a sought-after speaker, regularly addressing audiences of policymakers, academic communities on topics ranging from biotechnology to the digital economy.
With numerous publications, public engagements, and policy briefs to her name, Professor Okoye continues to shape the discourse in academic and global policy circles.
Her influence extends beyond the classroom or boardroom as she continues to represent global institutions and collaborate with ministries, agencies, and research networks worldwide such as Sigma Xi. Prof Okoye is a symbol of academic excellence, visionary leadership, and global impact. Her presence in international forums—whether alongside world leaders or development experts—is not only well-earned but profoundly respected. Professor Okoye is not only building knowledge—but shaping the future with over 100000 (100K) followers across social media platforms.
Professor Lady Ngozi Franca Okoye is married to Professor Sir Ifedi Peter Okoye and she has five fabulous children with him.
